This Cookie Policy explains what storage technologies we use on this website, why we use them and how you can control them. “Cookies” here is shorthand for browser cookies and similar local storage mechanisms such as localStorage.
What We Store and Why
The table below covers every storage item we set on your device and its purpose.
| Name | Storage type | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
net-consent |
localStorage | Essential | Stores your cookie banner choice (“accepted” or “declined”) so we respect it on every page and avoid re-showing the banner on each visit. | Persists until cleared by you |
Google Analytics cookies (e.g. _ga, _gid) |
Browser cookie | Analytics (optional) | Measure aggregate site usage: pages visited, session length, traffic source. Set only after you click “Accept all.” | Up to 2 years |
Google Ads cookies (e.g. _gcl_au, IDE) |
Browser cookie | Advertising (optional) | Measure ad conversions and support remarketing. Set only after you click “Accept all.” | Up to 13 months |
Google Consent Mode v2
We implement Google Consent Mode v2 to control when Google’s analytics and advertising tags can read or write data. Before you make any choice on the cookie banner, all four consent signals default to denied:
ad_storage— deniedad_user_data— deniedad_personalization— deniedanalytics_storage— denied
If you click “Accept all” on our banner, all four signals are upgraded to granted and Google may set analytics and advertising cookies as described in the table above.
If you click “Decline” (or close the banner without accepting), all signals remain denied. Google may still fire tags in a cookieless, modeled mode for aggregate measurement, but no identifying cookies are placed and no data is linked to your device.
Managing Your Choices
You can review or change your cookie preference at any time:
- On this site: click “Manage cookies” in the footer of any page to reopen our consent banner and accept or decline.
- In your browser: most browsers let you block, delete or restrict cookies through their settings. Note that blocking all cookies may affect site functionality — your consent preference is itself stored in localStorage and would be cleared if you wipe local storage.
- Google-specific: visit Google’s privacy settings or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to opt out of Google Analytics across all sites you visit.
Third-Party Storage
When you accept all cookies, Google LLC may set cookies and similar technologies governed by Google’s own privacy policy (available at policies.google.com). We do not control those third-party cookies directly; we rely on Google Consent Mode v2 to determine when Google’s technologies activate. Beyond Google’s services, we do not load any other third-party advertising or tracking scripts that set cookies.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices change or applicable law requires it. The “Last reviewed” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
